West Springs Real Estate & Community Guide
West Springs was established in 2001 and is located on the western edge of Calgary’s desirable southwest. Located behind Canada Olympic Park, this welcoming family community offers a wide range of housing options – from starter homes and townhomes, to luxury estates.
West Springs was established on what once was a 160 acre dairy farm which also housed pens of foxes raised for their furs in the 1940’s. In 2016 the remaining 10 acres of farmland was developed and there are no longer any signs of the original farm.
West Springs offers close proximity to amenities like the West 85th shopping district, Aspen Landing, and Strathcona Square along with excellent access to Kananaskis and the spectacular Rocky Mountains.
The community of West Springs is served by great Calgary Board or Education schools, West Springs Elementary School (K-4), and the West Ridge School (5-9).
As part of ward 6, it is bordered to the west by the acreages and estate homes of Springbank. To the east it is bounded by 69 Street W, to the south by Bow Trail and to the north by Old Banff Coach Road, the community of Cougar Ridge and Canada Olympic Park.
