Silverado Real Estate & Community Guide

The community of Silverado is located in Southwest Calgary, sitting on the far  southern edge of the city. Established in 2005, the community offers residents quick getaways for the weekend to the mountains and stress free commutes to downtown by means of Highway 22X and Macleod Trail. Being a suburban community, Silverado also offers outdoor enthusiasts an abundance of green space and a multitude of paths, as well as a quiet atmosphere for relaxing at the end of their day.

Homes in Silverado are newer and tend to be more affordable making it a popular choice for young families with children. Real Estate is primarily single detached family homes, with a mix of town-homes and apartment buildings, as well as luxurious estates.The neighbourhood architecture is modern, while also influenced by Spruce Meadows and its ranching legacy.

Recreational opportunities are numerous, with many residents taking advantage of the close proximity to the mountains with day trips for scenic hikes in Bragg Creek, or weekend getaways to Banff for hiking and biking in the summer, as well as skiing and snowboarding in the winter months.

The nearby Shawnessy Towne Centre provides a number of restaurants, retail shopping, grocery stores, theatre, services and big box stores including Walmart, Home Depot and Canadian Tire among others. Southcentre Mall and Chinook Mall are a short drive to reach additional shopping and dining options.

While Silverado does not have any high schools, daycares and elementary schools are within walking distance of homes offering convenience for families.
