Shawnee Slopes is a community in the South West quadrant of Calgary. It is bordered by McLeod Trail and Evergreen Street to the East and West and by James McKevitt Road and Fish Creek Provincial Park to the North and South. It offers a combination of more mature homes as well as the new development of Shawnee Park which is in its 8th phase.
As of the 2016 municipal census the population of Shawnee Slopes was approaching 1,600 people occupying 640 residences. The majority of dwellings in the community are single-detached homes and there are a small number of semi-detached houses and low-rise apartments. The community’s population is forecast to grow given the on-going development of Shawnee Park.
Shawnee Slopes is conveniently located within walking distance of the Fish Creek-Lacombe C-Train Station which provides speedy service to downtown Calgary in under 20 minutes. There are also several public transit busses that service the community.
