Ramsay Real Estate & Community Guide
Ramsay is an inner city community located in Calgary’s south east. The area was originally developed in the 1880s and named Ramsay in 1956 when residents of Burnsland, Brewery Flats, Grandview and Mills Estate consolidated as a new community. Ramsay is a diverse community undergoing a 21st century transition.
As one of Calgary’s original neighbourhoods, this community offers a selection of traditional and modern homes. The eastern half of the community consists primarily of older homes and there is an industrial area in the most eastern corner of the community.
The community is served by the Ecole Ste. Anne Elementary, Junior & Senior high school, Ramsay Elementary public school and Janus Academy.
The Ramsay Community Association works to support sustainable growth while honouring the community’s heritage.
As part of ward 9, this community is located east of the Elbow River, Macleod Trail, Stampede Grounds and the Scotiabank Saddledome arena and south of Inglewood. To the southeast, it borders the Alyth-Bonny Brook industrial area.
