Established in 1967, Lake Bonavista is a neighbourhood in Southeast Calgary. It is bordered by Anderson Road to the north, Macleod Trail to the west, Canyon Meadows Drive to the south, and Bow Bottom Trail to the east. There are 2 large man-made lakes in the community, Lake Bonavista & Lake Bonaventure. The small community of Bonavista Downs is in the northeast corner of the neighbourhood. Bonavista Downs residents do not have access to the lakes and do not pay for their maintenance.

The community centre includes a gym, 2 ice rinks, and a variety of rooms that can be used for a variety of events. Frank McCool Arena is a City of Calgary ice rink that is used for learn-to-skate classes and kids minor league hockey games.
Lake Bonavista Homeowners Association Ltd.- LBHA is an organization run by volunteers who manage the operation and maintenance of Lake Bonavista and Park. The Lake and Park are for the exclusive use of the homeowners of the community and their guests. The area, (52 acres) is one of the largest man-made lakes in Calgary.
There are 4 churches located in the community, Bonavista Baptist Church, Bonavista Evangelical Missionary Church, Holy Nativity Anglican Church, and St. Bonaventure Church.
Fish Creek Park is located to the south of the community. This provides a variety of outdoor opportunities.
Lake Bonavista Promenade is a small shopping centre within the community that includes both retail space and professional offices. There is also convenient access to shops along Macleod Trail and in Southcentre Mall. The nearest library is Fish Creek Library.
The nearest LRT station is the Canyon Meadows CTrain station. Buses that serve Lake Bonavista are #29, #35, #44, #79, #80, #81 and #762.
