The community of Dover is located in the South East of Calgary and according to the Dover Community Association website it was “named after Mary Dover, a historic alderman and environmentalist.” Located between 26th Avenue to the North, Peigan Trail to the South, Deerfoot Trail to the West and 36th Street to the East. Standing on the Western edge of the community on 26th Street you overlook the Bow River Valley and gain a beautiful view of downtown Calgary and the Rocky Mountains. The Bow River Valley gives you access to various recreational opportunities including: golfing, pathways, and an off leash area.
Within the community of Dover is the Valleyview Regional Park which has the following amenities: 12 beach volleyball courts, 2 soccer fields, a basketball court, spray park, pond and playground. A local Fire Station, public and separate schools, coffee shops, restaurants and retail stores round off the list of amenities available in Dover.
