Chaparral, a residential neighbourhood that was established in 1995 & named for the Mediterranean climate biome, is in the southeast quadrant of Calgary, Alberta. It is located south of the Stoney Trail. To the East is the Bow River Valley, to the South by 194 Avenue SE, and to the West by Macleod Trail.

A few special features of this community include a 32 acre man-made lake and a 21-acre park with two waterfalls. There is also a recreation center and facilities for fishing, boating, skating and diving. These are available to homeowners who are members of the community association. Located only minutes away, are 100+ shops at Shawnessy Towne Centre.
On the community lake, there are ice fishing areas, a skating path and ice rinks. Known as one of the best golf courses in Calgary, the Blue Devil Golf Club, is located in Chaparral Valley.
