St. Andrews Heights Real Estate & Community Guide
St. Andrews Heights is a small but beautiful neighbourhood that was established in the early 1950’s. It has a mixture of older houses and stunning new builds, many of which have city views to the south and mountain views to the west. As of 2019, there are approximately 1,800 residents living in this family-friendly community. Located within this community is the Foothills Medical Centre, the largest hospital in Alberta. This facility is one of Canada’s most recognized medical centres, providing advanced healthcare services to Calgarians and people from all across southern Alberta, BC and Saskatchewan. The Tom Baker Cancer Centre is located on the grounds of the Foothills Medical Centre and it offers advanced cancer treatment to people from all over Alberta.
Getting around the city is an ease as you’ll have access to major transit routes such as Crowchild Trail to the east, Memorial Drive to the south and Highway 1 to the north.
Market Mall, one of Calgary’s largest indoor malls, is just north on Shaganappi Trail. Residents also have quick access to nearby North Hill Mall with tenants including Safeway and Shoppers Drug Mart.
The St. Andrews Heights Community Association offers its residents a variety of year-round programming and events at their community centre (located at 2504 – 13th Avenue NW). The community centre is located on Saint Andrews Park which features a large greenspace and toboggan hill. Nearby sporting facilities include tennis courts, basketball courts and a skating rink, and community playgrounds located throughout the neighbourhood. You’ll be minutes away from McMahon Stadium and Foothills Athletic Park. Two large parks offer two very distinct opportunities for residents of this neighbourhood: Saint Andrews Park has a fantastic tobogganing hill, and the Karl Baker Off Leash Park offers breathtaking views of the city.
