Point McKay is a small neighbourhood nestled along the banks of the Bow River, next to Edworthy Park in NW Calgary. This serene setting offers quick access to walking and cycling paths and beautiful views of the Bow River. As of the 2019 census, there were 1,343 residents in Point McKay.  Annexed in 1963, this neighbourhood was once part of a town called Montgomery.

Homes in Point McKay consist of townhomes and the high-rise complex of Riverside Towers. Point McKay offers easy east-west access across the city via the Trans Canada Highway and Bowness Road/Memorial Drive. If you need to head north or south, you’re right near Shaganappi Trail or Crowchild Trail. Calgary Transit offers a Bus Rapid Transit service along Bowness Road, which will take you directly downtown with only a few stops along the way. As Point McKay is such a small community, there is no organized community association.

Living in Point McKay gives you direct-access to the spectacular Edworthy Park.  There is a walking bridge that goes over the Bow River from Point McKay which leads you directly to the park.  This large, diverse park can be enjoyed year-round.  Edworthy Park includes the natural areas of Douglas Fir Trail and Lawrey Gardens. You’ll also find gazebos, picnic tables, firepits, and many other amenities needed to make a fun family afternoon at the park. Nearby, you’ll find the Shouldice Athletic Park which offers multiple baseball diamonds, football fields and soccer fields.
