Most homes in Edgemont are single-family detached homes with a handful of apartments and townhomes, mostly built in the late 1900s, as well as luxury estates in the coveted sections of Edgemont. Houses are occupied by homeowners primarily with rental options few.

Organized soccer, softball, basketball and hockey make a great way for children and adults alike to connect and form friendships. There are three schools serving the community, including 2 elementary schools, and a Junior High School. High Schools are easily accessible in neighbouring communities. Families also have the option of 3 pre-schools for younger children.
Shopping amenities include medical offices and grocery stores throughout Edgemont, as well as the nearby newly developed shopping district of Beacon Hill, complete with big box stores such as Costco, Canadian Tire and Home Depot and plenty of shopping and dining options.
