Arbour Lake Real Estate & Community Guide
Take a peek at Arbour Lake
The ten-acre trout-stocked lake at the center of this upper middle-class community attracts families, singles, and seniors alike. While there’s something to be said for seasonal lake-inspired recreational activities, Arbour Lake has plenty of other amenities to offer. There are several neighbourhood parks and green spaces; and a bike and walking-path network winds through the community and surrounding hills.
Many shops, grocery stores, restaurants, medical services and movie theatres are within its bounds at popular Crowfoot Crossing. Crowfoot and Tuscany C-Train stations are nearby and the major thoroughfares at its perimeter of Nose Hill Drive, Crowchild Trail, Stoney Trail and Country Hills Boulevard provide an easy downtown commute or quick escape from the suburbs – the mountain views from within the community are a constant lure.
Arbour Lake offers a variety of housing at a range of price-points. Single family homes, primarily two-storeys, include luxurious lakefront properties, 55+ community living and executive condos. There are numerous other apartment condos and a smaller mix of bungalows and attached homes. According to the city’s 2016 Census, 89% of residents own their home.
Based on a similar community in southern California, Arbour Lake, northwest Calgary’s only lake community, at the time, was established in the early 1990’s. However, its unique lifestyle and features continue to appeal, as it’s often ranked as one of the city’s top communities by various media outlets.
