Inglewood has the distinction of being Calgary’s oldest urban neighbourhood. It is located across the Elbow River from Fort Calgary and was established in 1875 after the fort was built. Centered on 9 ave, (formerly Atlantic Avenue) Inglewood is a shopping and culture-filled district and is also home to the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary, an urban wildlife refuge.
Historic single-family homes and new condominiums are al located within walking distance to the Fort Calgary Historic Park, Calgary Zoo, the Bow River Pathway, and several nature preserves, this area is a great place to call home.
The Inglewood Community Association serves the community by helping guide change while acknowledging the past of this historic area.
Located in Ward 9, the community also has direct access to downtown Calgary, Deerfoot Trail, and International Avenue.
