Roughnecks Rockstar of the Game - Calgary Police Dog Xena and Constable Ryan Avery

The Calgary Roughnecks are in a heated battle for a playoff spot in the National Lacrosse League. Last Friday the Roughnecks fended off a late push by the Vancouver Warriors that sent the game to overtime (with the Roughnecks’ Curtis Dickson scoring the game-winner just 31 seconds into OT). They also took a moment to recognize the Roughnecks Rockstar of the Game.

Royal LePage Benchmark and the Calgary Roughnecks are recognizing individuals in the Calgary community who make a difference! This week the honour went to Calgary Police Dog Xena and her handler Constable Ryan Avery.

Xena, a Dutch Shepherd, has been with the Calgary Police Service for 4 years and has been involved in hundreds of high-risk arrests. Avery was the Calgary Roughneck’s Goaltender from 2006 to 2008 and has been with the CPS since leaving the team!

You can watch the video tribute below, and follow the Calgary Roughnecks as they vie to get into the 2022 NLL Playoffs!
